Peter Paul Coleiro has recently been appointed as the new Director General of the Civil Protection Department (CPD), as announced by the Home Affairs Ministry.

With a background in transport and ICT, Coleiro has served in various capacities within the CPD, including as operation director, deputy director, and senior operation manager.

Over the past 13 years, he has also been a court expert in fire investigations. Coleiro, who holds a Master’s in Business Administration, took on the role after serving as the acting director general. Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri commended Coleiro for his leadership during critical overseas missions .
