Peter Gatt, an accomplished geologist, holds a B.A. from London, MSc from Reading, and a PhD from Durham. His research on the Malta Platform, presented globally, enhances understanding of its development, petroleum potential, and industrial uses of Maltese limestones.

Awarded by BP in 2009 for climatic controls research on Mediterranean limestones, Dr. Gatt is the national correspondent for the International Association of Sedimentologists. With a diverse career, he has lectured at the University of Malta, served in governmental roles, and contributed to public awareness through articles in magazines and newspapers, alongside scientific journal publications.
