Jacques Borg Barthet

Biography

Jacques Borg Barthet is Director of Practice at AP Valletta, an award-winning practice renowned for its design leadership and its sensitive contemporary interventions in complex heritage environments. After completing a BA (Hons) in architecture at the University of Malta, Jacques read for an MA in Urban Design at Oxford Brookes University, UK and undertook extensive research in relation to governance for green infrastructure as a foundation for quality of life and urban competitiveness.

His professional experience involves work across a breadth of architectural practice from large-scale urban projects to public space awareness workshops. He has served on the Council of the Kamra tal-Periti and co-wrote the Kamra’s award-winning 2007 publication The Urban Challenge: Our Quality of Life and the Built Environment. He has also served on a number of planning committees and is the outgoing Chair of the Kamra’s Committee on Spatial Planning.
