Perit Ray DeMicoli

Ray DeMicoli graduated in 1975 from the University of Malta with a first class Honours degree in Architecture, joined Malta Consult in 1976 and took an architectural post with DP International in Paris. In these formative years he was exposed to numerous international projects where he collaborated with offices like Sir Leslie Martin, Albini Helg and HPP Germany.

On returning to Malta in 1978 he joined the practice of Carmelo Falzon and later established his own firm, DeMicoli & Associates, in 1985. Immediately he starting moving waves in the architectural scene, with projects such as the Mosta Technopark and his own house which was nominated for the Mies Van de Rohe European Architectural Award.

Other milestone projects include the offices at the Mall, Floriana, Portomaso, Palm City in Libya and the restoration of Fort St Elmo.

Projects highly commended in the international media include Portomaso, Laguna, Tipico tower and Spinola Park, hailed for the insertion of a major green project with least impact on the valley, plus the new Quad Business Centre.
