Catherine Hurley

Catherine is an experienced construction and fit out consultant with a special interest in high quality, sustainable building materials, as well as safety and efficiency of process on site. She was previously CEO at Quad Central, the first LEED platinum rated office space development in Malta. This unprecedented development provided over 38,000 sqm of Grade A office space as well ample retail and amenities, built as four towers over a five floor carpark. The development led the industry in identifying and providing those amenities required by the modern workforce in Malta to assist their work life balance. Catherine also consults in power generation with a focus on cleaner energy. A masters qualified engineer, she led the “LNG to Power” project in Malta which introduced natural gas as fuel for electrical generation for the first time to Malta, along with the latest CCGT technology. As a result, national emissions from power generation were cut by circa 53% and particulate matter by 90%. Before moving to Malta in 2014, Catherine was manager of a hydro powered generation station in ESB Ireland, having spent over ten years working in hydro and gas-fired power stations. She also acts as a mentor to up and coming talent, and holds selective non executive director roles, having recently attained a Diploma in Company Direction from the IoD.
